Executive Director of Victoria Forward Edward Bourke says the response to the ‘give Dan the boot’ protest on Sunday was fantastic and overwhelming.
Upwards of 20,000 took to social media to Give Dan the Boot on Sunday, posting pictures of boots at the front door.
The peaceful protest was initiated by political campaign group Victoria Forward.
“It was a fantastic response, just overwhelming,” Mr Bourke told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“I think it’s a decisive display to Premier Andrews that we’re fed up, we’ve had enough of the lies, we’ve had enough of the incompetence, he has destroyed our state and it’s just not right.
Mr Bourke said the protest was driven by the emotion of Victorians and was a core display of how they were hurting.
“Incompetent and inhumane, that is how everyone I think, across the state, would characterise Premier Andrews and his government,” he said.
“They have crushed the lives and livelihoods of people, and people are just finished with it, they can’t take it anymore.”
